Leadership on Every Project
Company leadership remains personally involved on every project, ensuring accountability, consistency, and trusted guidance when it matters most.
Nearly four decades of experience working with complex environmental and building conditions to help reduce uncertainty and support steady progress.

What We Do
Some environmental issues don’t have an obvious cause. Moisture, mold, asbestos, lead, or indoor air concerns can create uncertainty and slow progress when the full picture isn’t clear.
Wynn L. White Consulting Engineers helps teams understand what’s driving these conditions and identify practical next steps, so projects can move forward with fewer unknowns.

Environmental Consulting Experience
Wynn L. White Consulting Engineers was established in 1987, with early work focused on traditional civil engineering projects such as water systems, wastewater infrastructure, streets, and drainage.
As environmental regulations expanded, the work evolved. Early asbestos requirements for schools created the need for large-scale inspections and management planning, leading to extensive work with school systems across Louisiana. Over time, services expanded to include environmental consulting, training, and project support involving asbestos, lead, and broader building-related conditions.
The firm relocated to Baton Rouge in 1992 and has since worked with schools, healthcare facilities, contractors, government agencies, and private industry on a wide range of projects. The office sits at the corner of Opportunity Avenue and Knox Drive, a combination that seems fitting.
Much of the work involves situations where conditions are not fully defined at the outset. The focus remains on understanding those conditions and helping teams navigate complex environmental challenges as they arise.
Experience is grounded in work that spans civil engineering, environmental consulting, and building-related conditions. From early work in water and wastewater systems to large-scale environmental projects, that experience has been developed through projects where conditions are often discovered in the field, not defined in advance.
Project work includes asbestos, lead, mold, and building system-related issues across schools, healthcare facilities, industrial sites, and public infrastructure. Much of this work takes place in active or occupied environments, where coordination and clear communication are essential.
Both Wynn White and Chris White bring experience that combines technical understanding with practical application. Early fieldwork, project management, and ongoing involvement in environmental and infrastructure projects have shaped an approach focused on how systems perform over time and how issues are addressed under real-world conditions.
Credentials include professional engineering licensure, as well as accreditations such as Asbestos Inspector, Asbestos Management Planner, Asbestos Abatement Project Designer, Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor, Asbestos Trainer, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional. The team is also active in professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, and continues to participate in industry training and presentations.
In addition to project work, Wynn and Chris White are co-authors of Lead Learning Hazard and Mold Prevention Guide, which reflects the same experience-based perspective applied in their work with clients.

Published Industry Expertise
It takes a foundational understanding of issues like lead, mold, and indoor environmental conditions to recognize what may be affecting a building and what it means for the people inside it. Without that baseline, it’s difficult to know how to respond or what steps to take next.
These published resources are designed to help schools, families, and organizations build that understanding. They explain how these conditions develop, what to look for, and how to approach them so decisions can be made with greater clarity.
Success Stories
“They put our interests first and communicate clearly, so we’re not left second-guessing decisions. They’re detailed and thorough, and when something doesn’t look right, they speak up and help protect the project. That level of honesty makes a real difference.”

Lake Charles Housing Authority
